After about 12 (!) quit attempts I have finally stopped smoking cigs!!! I don't even want one, the thought has become "icky". I AM using nicotine though - I switched to those tank system e-cigs called "vaporizers". Every day my desire to use them is slowly diminishing, this is the best approach for me apparently, all the studies that claim otherwise notwithstanding.

Question though - how do I prepare for just not using ANY nicotine anymore? I have such a hard time completely giving it up. Patches, gum and meds have NOT helped me in the past. Perhaps go to a nicotine-free refill?
Thanks for this!

Yes, if they have a nicotine free refill, that sounds like a good next step. Also, when I quit I looked for hobbies that kept my hands busy. I quit 20 years ago, You can do it. You are so close. Good for you. You will feel so much better when you aren't changed to cigs.

I too am fighting my "umpteenth" battle to quit smoking cigarettes. I have found that daily snusing gives me the nicotine I need to not grab a smoke. I *do* have about 3-4 smokes a day getting down to just a half-smoke here and there. Every time I do smoke a half I cough and that is enough to put it out and take a pinch of snus. Therein lies the problem, quitting nicotine completely when it eases my mental illness stress. I'm trying to not snus OR smoke at night.

Best of LUCK!!!
