Hi everybody, its been about a month since I last smoked a cigarette, and the cravings are coming worse than ever. Do they ever dissipate. I quit smoking for about two years before, and even after years I would still get cravings. In your experience, do they ever go away.

I stopped smoking a little over 16 years ago and I still get hit with a craving here and there. It's easier to handle than in the beginning. I just play "that tape" forward as to how my life would change if I had just one. Just 1 is too many. Have a plan as to what you'll do the next time that craving hits you...brisk walk, deep breaths, brush your teeth. Whatever it takes to stay away from that first one!

Hi notz, thanks for the reply. Somehow I think my system is wired backwards, I can quit cold turkey the early days with no issue, however once that week passes, it just progressively gets worse. Must be due to the nicotine built in the system. Thanks for your advice, I do find that when I walk around for a bit they do seem to dissipate. Lol, I just realized I said carvings, reminded me of a Thanksgiving turkey. Now I'm hungry again.
