Can educate here about what I'm referring to. It's being fixed. But all I mentioned was that I'm using a menthol ecig, as I was a menthol flavored smoker to begin with and that flavor is without a doubt safe from this avoidable risk. And I felt comfortable about the idea of making the switch care of the Royal College of Physicians reports.

The arrival I posted actual is rebuking that "study" because it ignores the amount of diacetyl that is in cigarettes. Toxcicity of a compound is based on dose. The dose of diacetyl in ejuice is so small it's benign. Cigarettes have more diacetyl than any ejuice ever produced. Continue to only use menthol juice for all I care. If it works for you, good. I don't understand why you are hellbent in backing up something that isn't true.

Well I'm not using an ejuice. Shouldn't consumers be informed about the great divide?

They should be informed of facts not falsehoods. Those falsehoods are the driving force behind all of the vape bans and insane costs to register products. If these false claims continue to circulate the entire vape industry will be destroyed and then the thousands of people who are vaping instead of smoking will go right back to smoking. That's why we need to stop spreading nonsense and start spreading facts.

Literally ever study on vaping done outside of the fda's reach has proven that vaping is a safe and effective method of smoking cessation.

Do what you wish and want. I was only sharing my story under a thread that started as a mention about following a calendar with a rewards system. And a follow up about her husband being on the fence. If anything I both wanted to share my reaching a calendar milestone while mentioning that ecigs are a possiblity at least in moving away from the pack upon pack of cigarettes that many of us have experienced.

So what if I mentioned that in my own deciding if ecigs were safe enough that for me, at least with menthol I do not have that popcorn lung worry-which obviously is out there! Even the lung association is on that. I'm not making this an activist hijack of a thread.

I support the calendar and hope her husband can find his way to join her, tobacco free.

So is anyone going to tell me what a pop corn lung is, or are you just going to continue arguing?...

Guess I could just google the damn thing.

It's a disease that's prevalent in people that work in factories that make microwave popcorn. It has never been found in anyone but people that work in these factories without some sort of filtration mask. Massive concentrations of it cause respiratory issues. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bron...tis_obliterans

I recommend anyone to do research on these common rumors. Nobody should be using any smoking cessation product without fully researching the method and any associated risks.

Great post, healingme4me. I quit 3 years ago after smoking a pack a day for about 35 years. One of the most amazing things I noticed is that my sense of smell was heightened! I used to think that when I smoked, all I had to do was chew a mint or piece of gum & no one would know I smoked. What a joke! It doesn't bother me, & I'm not self-righteous about it, but I'm amazed that I can smell a smoker from seveeal feet away. I used to teach HS & would go out for a cig at lunchtime. The kids would ask if I smoked, but I never told them "yes." I know now that they knew damned well I smoked! I could relate to the money thing, too, but I'll end my post here. Good luck!

Continued: I checked & didn't realize your post was on the other page! I didn't realize the thread was so spammed up by Mr. Know-It-All.

Thanks Emgreen! After about a week, I walked into my apartment and thought wow, why do I smell it? My winter coat was still hanging on a rack near the door. 😬 It's wool and the cig smell lingered. I didn't announce quitting to anyone, didn't want to make it a big deal nor did I want to hear any comments that I knew might rub me wrong, well meaning comments but, nope wasn't interested in bringing anyone but my quit buddy into the conversation. Prior to quitting, I mentally challenged myself to go back to my first puff. And revisit why I had started again.

Trippin, there's a chemical that was discovered in certain flavors that combined with the process created concern. It is being fixed and addressed. I know of a community where even flavored chewing tobacco is banned. Part the chemical fear and for the most part appealing to a younger crowd. I forget their exact bylaw, I remember it passed. For me it's the difference between a club scene and those that buy by the carton?? Over in the uk drs are allowed to encourage ecigs when mentioning pathches and gums. The US, of course not until years of studies make scientific facts type of thing.
Thanks for this!
