I posted a similar message yesterday, and I'm back today to offer (and fish for) more encouragement. Now that I've broken the habit, I'm trying to be aggressive in weaning off the nicotine gum. I've made it all the way until just a while ago without any! It's easy not to smoke because I'm in financial ruin so I can't even think of buying a pack of butts. My only hope is to focus on all that's good about not smoking.

Way to go!!! Congratulations. Believe me there's not much better than kicking the habit. I haven't had one for 22 years. Quitting was one of the best things I've ever done.

jtesta33, i am having difficulty quitting. I quit and i puff, pick up, one or two here. But it isn't anything i crave really. I find if i do not go around people that smoke i am fine. Have lots of gum or candy to suck on and it takes the edge off. I am proud of you... good job! tc

congrats! I've recovered from many things but smoking was one of the hardest, and it was the last. but it's now been nine years. occasionally i miss it and get worried that i'll start up again but it's always a reaction to stress in my life and it passes if i give it enough time, which is sometimes hours, sometimes weeks.
