I started smoking 3-4 months ago, and it's getting out of control honestly. I smoke about 3-6 a day. During the weekends it goes up to 10 a day. Every time i get anxious or depressed, I smoke and honestly it doesn't make me feel better AT ALL. I don't know what I can do to cut down the number. I'll have a good day every now and then where I'll just smoke once. I had 3 today.

Nvm, didn't realized this was in smoking cessation... tapatalk just said addictions for what I could see...

One thing I have seen work for other people is hard candy, usually sugar free. When the urge to smoke hits, they start sucking on some candy. One piece of candy can last 10 to 15 minutes sometimes. I've also seen someone get straws from a fast food place and cut them to the length of a cigarette, and then basically "smoke" the straw, for the oral fixation.

Usually, urges for things like cigarettes only last about 10 minutes if we are able to put our mind somewhere else. Is there a game you play on your phone that you could pick up and play when the urge hits?

oh sorry i should have been more clear. I smoke cigarettes.

Candy isn't something I've tried, will try and see if it works for me.

I do play videogames, but on console or PC. I should try these mobile games, if only for the distraction. Thank you.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad you're catching the habit when you're just starting. The longer you smoke, the more you smoke...& the more you smoke, the harder it is to quit. I didn't quit until I was 53-years-old, & have shortness of breath because I didn't quit earlier. I'm sure you'll find the resolve to quit. Keep us posted.

Thank you.

I didn't smoke for more than 12 hours now. Not really feeling the urge, and I'm not keeping cigarettes at home anymore.
