Where do you start when you have virtually NO self-esteem and when I'm in a depressive cycle, as I am now, I can't find anything positive at all? Like everything else, it just seems so overwhelming when you're starting from nothing. Where do you start?

I think admitting you are having a hard time is a good place to start. Maybe looking back at posts where you've started positives about yourself. Like this one

I still think its a good idea to print your list out and put it in places you can see it. On the fridge...on the tv...on the bathroom mirror... in the car. EVERYWHERE. Hope that helps.

The problem is when I'm this depressed, I don't believe the positive things I said about myself before. Today I feel like yesterday's garbage. Where do you start?

I know you don't believe them...that's the battle you are going to have to fight (and you can do it...don't think you can't).

Print them out so you can see them. Even if you don't believe them. Print out the nice things people have written to you here. Heck, I'm thinking decoupage all over the walls! Where do you start?

Find one thing. Just one. No matter how insignificant and latch onto that for dear life. Keep telling yourself this one thing, until you believe it. Then pick another. You can do it!

Oh man I know exactly how this feels (at least for me) because I have the same problem! I see only the negative things about myself. Am reading the rest of this thread to see what ideas are here. Hang in there Angel Girl.
