This was posted as an activity on another board I belong to. The idea is that for the next 7 days, every day you look at yourself in the mirror - look into your eyes and say out lout "I love you."
The see how you feel - emotionally or in your boday, and see how your feelings change over the seven days. Anyone want to try it with me. splitimage |

I'll try it. I could always use a little self esteem boost now and then.

Great - if you feel like it post how you feel.
I did it yesterday for the first time, and it felt really weird. First off it was like I was looking at a stranger, i couldn't reconize myslef if the mirror. Then I said "I love you splitimage" outloud and I felt concious, and I got a knot in my chest like I was sad. splitimage |

I'm in. I told myself, "I really like your haircut" and "you really are beautiful" recently - but this sounds like a good next step! Thanks!

Count me in too, will give it try to see if there are any changes. Could be interesting and a challenge, definitely.

I did it today and wasn't quite so self conscious, but it still felt weird. And I didn't really feel like I was saying it to myself, because I felt like I was looking at a stranger in the mirror. I was wondering how I got to be this kind of overweight, dumpy, middle aged woman, when that's not how I feel inside.

I found that I could not look at myself to say it yesterday, kept turning away with a knot in my stomach, and I couldn't believe that something that seems so simple could be so difficult. I had to chuckle on one hand, then it was upsetting. Today it was still really uncomfortable. However I could actually could "see" myself this time and I was startled as to whom was looking back. I understood what you meant about the stranger in the mirror Splitimage.

Well today was better. I didn't feel self conscious and I said it and kind of smiled at myself and felt a little bit happy.

Well today was better - I kind of believed it a little bit and then I started giggling at myself, as my hair was wet, but I hadn't brushed it yet so it was sticking out in all sorts of funny angles, and I thought I look really goofy and I smiled.

Yesterday was ridiculous....it was like talking to a wall. This morning, not like talking to a wall, but still not quite getting through.

Well today I said it much more firmly and confidentally, like I believed it, and it felt ok. Still not sure I believe it.

I'll try too but I'm not sure if I mean it. I might just be saying empty words but we'll see....
