I feel pretty until I see myself in a picture. I used to be all photogenic, but now I just feel fat and ugly. I feel horrible when I see what I look like to other people.

I have the same issue! I can look in the mirror and think I look great that day, yet if you show me a picture from that same day, I'll think it looks awful. I actually avoid being in pictures for this exact reason.

me too!!! but recently I started noticing that other people, even really attractive ones, don't always look good in pictures either...so maybe pictures are more approximate than a perfect likeness, or something like that anyway. but we are super-beautiful on the inside and we know it!!!

I think a lot of people have this problem, me too. I can speak for only myself, of course, but I was reassured by my sister that I'm not ugly at all, it's just the camera and I look much better in real life indeed. Somehow I get the impression that this must be the case for a lot of people with this kind of problem. So it's very likely that you look perfectly fine and it's just the camera that distorts your image, just like it distorts mine a bit.
I wouldn't really care much about this (didn't care in the past), but now I'm trying a dating site and I think my pictures don't really help me (because people there tend to assume that your pictures look actually better than the real you, so I'm at a disadvantage). Anyway, if you don't have to rely on your photos, then it's not really a big deal. What matters is that otherwise you're pretty and THAT is the real you. |
