why can't i be burly, muscular, and tall? Does genetics have to play such a major role in my height and weight? Why can't I start lifting weights and do more exercises?

Well, burly isn't always a good thing. Unfortunately height we have no control over, but if you want more muscle you certainly CAN start lifting weights and doing more excercise - it's just not always easy to get and keep the motivation up! But if you want it, the go for it.

I'd wait until you finish puberty to decide how the genetics will play out; there could be some grandfather or great grandfather whose burliness you are unaware of and their genes might come through for you You could get a late growth spurt, etc.

Oh, I'm sorry heyits - I didn't know you were still school-aged. In that case, keep on hoping for a growth spurt! (I "lucked" out and stopped growing when I was 11! ha. I've been the same height since, but I love it way more now than I did then!)

I don't think i've really grown much because i've remained the same height for about a few months and i haven't even grown an inch. the least i want is to be a 6 foot figure.

Grandfather or even great grandfather works; I got a picture of my great grandfather doing my genealogy work and at first I thought it was my middle brother the eyes looked so alike!

My husband is 6' 2" and his ex-wife is 6' 4" but their 3 sons are all taller, the "shortest" is 6'6" and there's no one in their past that was that tall, though their mother's father was over 6'; my husband's father was only about 5' 7" and I have a brother-in-law who is that size too as well as another who was around 6' 6" (my husband's mother was 5' 11" or something). So you really can't tell where the height/burliness might come from.
