Many years ago somebody told me that one needs to do at least one thing a day that takes courage. I think once a day is too frequently, but I still very much like the general idea: probably nothing builds self esteem better and faster than overcoming fears.

I have nothing to list today, but am just throwing it out to the general public.
Thanks for this!

1. Zip lining (at least it took a great deal of courage for me, I was terrified but it turned out to be fun)
2. Going to therapy, examining your past and getting real about what you have been in denial about your entire life
3. Going back to school
4. Talking to a stranger

I think that's a great idea. I try to do one thing each day I don't want to do. Sometimes it takes courage and sometimes it just takes self discipline.

I tend to have to work myself up to facing things that scare me... but I definitely have made a lot of them (and a lot of them are on my proud-list! haha)

Today's one is: going to see Mental Health Guy.

Great thought hamster. I know when I face a fear and do something that takes courage I always feel better after having done it. I get plenty of opportunites to practice this since I get anxious easily. Thanks for this.

Yesterday I dyed my hair mostly blonde. That took guts for me because I figured I'd probably look awful - but it doesn't look awful at all! I quite like it!

I'm defying all logic

Today's action will be going to use the sauna solo. I'm still waking up and getting up the guts to go shave my legs and head downthere!

Our saunas have signs warning about using the sauna solo... but then again, the United States are full of signs warning people that coffee is hot in a cup

I'm not sure if this one did or not... but I would have conveniently ignored it anyway

I surpassed my challenge though!

Today I:
- used the sauna
- swam a few laps in the actual pool
- got a pedicure for the first time
- stood up for myself by voicing that I was upset on a different thread even though I'm rather terrified of having posted it!

Today, I defined a boundary with a friend.
I offered a realistic compromise.

I like this idea. Maybe I can start it slowly in my own life.
