![]() I love to wear dresses and get my hair just right but some days I just can't get myself to do anything but sweat pants. The days when I do get myself pretty I feel x1000 times better. Even if I've got no where really to go, it puts such a smile on my face to look in the mirror and like what I see. Anyone else enjoy getting dressed up even if they've got no where to go? Do you have a specific outfit that makes you feel really good about yourself?

theres something to be said about the clothes make the person. I always feel better when I dress up nice and put on a little makeup. I always receive compliments when I put a little effort into my look as well and that makes me feel better too.

I sort of feel better at first when I do something with my hair or put make-up on, but then I feel worse because I feel like I've wasted a bunch of time....since there was really no point of doing it.
I don't really dress up unless I'm performing...unless wearing jeans instead of sweat pants/PJ's counts. But I'd rather feel comfortable rather than wearing a suit or a tux or something... |

I love to dress up! I do a group webcam chat so I do my hair and makeup so I could look good on cam. It makes me feel good when people compliment me on how I look when I go out. I love to get dressed up for no reason

thanks for this! I do feel better when I do my best to look presentable...I'm not into clothes that much but I feel good when my hands and feet are groomed and I can wear sandals without being embarrassed and I don't have to hide my hands! and when my hair's put up and not in my eyes. I do like shoes and barrettes I guess. and eyeliner too.

Nope. I hate spending a ton of time putting on a suit and tie, polishing the shoes and pressing the shirt. All I accomplish is making myself uncomfortable.

I definitely have days that I feel good and feel even better when dress up! I may not go anywhere, generally I don't leave my house unless I have to...so it's sweats and t-shirts...I can relate to many!

You know for me I usually try and wear a nice shirt and slacks, etc., but then I "frame" it in my default hoodie/Chuck Taylor combo. And that's fine, except it feels so...blahh sometimes. I've done that for years. It's like I don't feel particularly handsome if I'm doing something by default. So for me that extra step you're talking about might be in the shoes and jacket combo. I guess sometimes the anxiety/self-esteem stuff gets in the way and I over-think color combos and other silly things like does the belt match, etc. But yeah, it definitely helps me feel better if I dress up a bit. Thanks for that, Atomicc.

I've reached a point in my life, where most of my wardrobe, is designed to look presentable, when going out. Even in jeans. If I don't want to take the time, to do my hair, or if I just don't have the time, it's up in a bun or ponytail. I don't always have to wear makeup, but that's a judgment call, and a quick touch up of some, works, even if just mascara and lipstick.
Wore a dress, to the beach, back in May, when I was having a day of deep reflection...(walked barefoot, in the sand, wearing said dress). Yes, it's a self esteem boost to take the extra effort to look nice. ![]() |

I'm wearing a dress, tights and boots to work with an t autistic child...I did just dye my hair though so I really like to be fancy afterwards to surprise my man. I enjoy over dressing actually haha
