I just left a bottle of soda behind when I left work. I had to go all the way back to get it.
I can just imagine what my coworkers must think. "Oh, there's stupid Winter, leaving her disgusting garbage behind. I'll remember this for the next time she applies for a higher position. Of course we'd rather choose someone who knows how to clean up after themselves." When am I going to stop being so stupid and childish? Why can't I manage to do a simple thing like not leave my garbage lying around? Why can't I stop acting like a three year old and take some responsibility for myself? If I don't start acting like an adult, I'll end up homeless. Is that what I want? Do I enjoy failing? How do I shame myself into behaving appropriately? |

People take up space with no excuses. That includes making mistakes.
I think you need to take up some more space and not making yourself small.
