How do I change when everyone knows me
They decide who I am
I change my hair, lose some weight
But I'm exactly the same
I moved away but brought them with me
Those people from my past
New friends meet the same me they've never met before
How do I change when everyone knows me
They decide who I am

They think they can decide who you are because of who you used to be (or who they used to perceive you as)
But they are wrong!!
No one but YOU can decide who you are. YOU define yourself!

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO Fuzzy!!! You tell 'em!

Zelev, YOU decide who you are and don't let anyone tell you different. Acknowledge your strong points, accept the not so good points and if you can and want to, set about changing the not so good points one at a time. Like as well as love yourself and never mind what other people think. Remember, the only constant is Change!

The wise ladies above have said it just like it is. You define who you are. No one else but you. Most of us have things we'd like to or even need to change about ourselves. But that's up to you to do that. Don't let anyone else do it for you. Don't allow anyone else define who you are or where you are going in life. You are you no matter what anyone else thinks.

You know, I moved from California to Kentucky. It is my new beginnings at the age of 55. Left my husband of 32/33 years & have completely started a new life. I know there are parts of me that are exactly the same person I was before, but I was able to completely leave the rut & the crap behind & start a fresh new life. I have friends that I never had before. I have found people that care & that I care about more than I ever experienced in California all my life. I have gotten involved in community activities, I have really grown in my religious beliefs. I still have some of the problems at this time of year from the trauma I went through 4 years ago, but in reality, I am a completely new person who is loving life even with all the difficulties I have come across being completely alone.

I noticed you live in California.....lol.....maybe I should suggest that you move to Kentucky & leave your crap there too. The thing is that I tried bringing my husband here for a fresh new start too, but strange thing.....he couldn't leave his crap behind & brought it with him......so I kicked him out.

You see, it is what you want your life to be like that really determines who you are & no one else......as people get to know me here, they find out the things I went through in my life & they don't change me back to the person I was.....they don't even try....they just accept me for who I am now.....but I have determined exactly who & what I am NOW.

Just something to think about?

Hallowe'en is coming, and the time to dress up for the masquerade ball...
