My horribly abusive EX decided to give me a message the eve before my 45th birthday, and it was not a very good message. Now....I have to go back to the detectives and hope for the best.
I just want to tell any girl who is being abused...........GET OUT! End it the FIRST time he is abusive.....verbally or physically. END IT! Love yourself that much....enough to stay alive.
Thanks for this!

He is the father of my children. A court order will never stop him from terrorizing me. He loves to terrorize me, and paralyze me with fear. It's a game to him.

Coolbrock,
If this is happening to you, I want to say that I am so sorry! There are shelters that can really help you to start a new life and a new beginning. If you are being abused and have no place to go....please consider taking help from them. That is what they are there for. Stay safe!

palmdalegirl: I have a child with my ex-abuser. It is very hard to have them out of your life until your children are 18. I have 9 1/2 yrs til that day, and boy am I ready for it. I was able to get a TRO against him and although it has expired he still acts like it is enforced. Most of my communication is through his mother. I don't know what the laws are where you live, but here in MO when I got the TRO, we had to set up a visitation schedule. I made it so all the exchanges where made either at my church or at my daughter's school. I didn't have to even see him. Also, if I needed to "talk" to him about our daughter, I would write a note. It is your decision to let him in your "yard" or personal space/mind. You have the choice to allow who you want in your yard. No matter what he says to you, you have to stop those thoughts/words/actions. Do not allow his negativity into your "yard."

coolbrock: If you are being abused you can call 1800799SAFE. They will be able to help you find a safe place to go. There are shelters that you can go to as well. Or if you have family or friends that will let you stay with them. I was able to stay with friends. I am an outreach client with the local DV shelter here. There are support groups that meet in several different locations at different times in the week, there is also individual counseling available for both women and children, along with the shelter services.
I wish you both the best.

Thanks for your insight! It has never really been about the kids with him....it is just about ME. If he can't have me.....nobody will.
