The older I get the less death scares me for myself but the fear heightens for lossing those I love ~ it is an odd thing I think.

It makes sense to me.
I have lived five decades and if I died today I have had a good life and I am happy. I do not fear my death. But as you say losing one's you love is different. I feel the same. To me the worst thing that could happen would be my son dying before he has had a chance to live a full life as I have. ![]()

Living without the people that have done so much to make my life meaningful indeed is not a welcome thought. Some have already passed. Reminds me of the admonition to express your thankfulness now. Death has no schedule. It is later than you think.
