I have the Oprah show on it has child molesters on. YUCK!
  It makes me very angry and very sad. One of the first statements she makes is that 90 percent of kids that are abuse now there abuser. No kidding!! In my case the abusors were my father, brother, uncle and my mother. Thinking about it makes me sick. Because of these experiences I'm anxious, avoidant and can't hold a job down. I'm sure if I hadn't gone through these things I would be different person. Maybe even made some kind of difference in this world.

Why were these people on Oprah's stage instead of prison. What was SHE thinking?

I'm sorry that you had to watch the Oprah show and see that, I'm also saddened that you have had to go through abuse yourself. I hope that you can seek some good T to help you. Hang in there....Sending gentle hugs your way.

oh wow michelle, i am sorry you had to stumble across that show. being reminded of the horrific abuse you experienced can't be a good feeling at all. blah, im so sorry.

Oprah was also abused - this is how she brings awareness to the world. She does this every now and again - really hard for me to watch too - i usually turn it off. I also knew all my abusers; dad, mom, grandma, teacher, neighbors... I too am riddled with a list of dx's that make life really difficult and I wonder who I might have been (who T thinks I can still be - T and my GP were abused and they are wonderful, shining, strong women). Right now I just feel like giving up. But I know that this is just right now.

We also declined to watch that episode as we knew it would trigger. But maybe for those who do not know what goes on or how perps think it will help? I am still in shock that ANYONE allows children under teen years to walk home from school. It is a good thing I never had kids because they would be under my eye 24/7 and hate me :-)
