Does anyone else have a REALLY hard time at their job when there is some sort of even very mild constructive criticism offered? I have been abused so much in the past. I think that's why I react SO strongly to these things. I end up thinking I must be horrible at my job and that I'm going to get fired, even when there's no reason for me to think this. I hate that I react this strongly and always assume the worse. Does anyone else who has survived abuse react this way? I hate it and I feel so young and scared and horrible.

Hi lilacbutterfly,

Yes, I do take criticism very poorly. It scares the bejeezers out of me every time.

Leading to my negative pattern thoughts: 1.) I suck! 2.) I'm ugly! and 3.) I'm a POS that deserves to die.

Not real healthy, I know. But I am working to improve my outlook. Hopefully, my reaction to criticism will ease a bit. Best wishes to you!
