For those of you who don't know her, Mariska Hargitay is the amazing woman who plays Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order SVU, which is a great showing about "special victims". These victims are often victims/survivors of abuse, and it is AWESOME to see someone get justice for what was done to them (not to mention seeing some creeps getting the !@#$% beat out of them!). Mariska is the founder of the non-profit organization, the Joyful Heart Foundation, which "works to foster a community that turns toward the issues of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse."
Feel free to find more info here: http://www.joyfulheartfoundation.org/ This is Mariska's personal site: http://www.mariska.com/ She hears many stories from abuse survivors, and is just an amazing person all-around. I am working on a letter to her to know how much she is appreciated (just in case she hasn't heard it enough!) I encourage you to look into what she does, and if you like it, please vote for her organization (JHF) in the Pepsi Refresh project. It's for a fantastic cause! ![]() ![]()

I'm almost ashamed to say this, being a writer and all, but I'm kinda stuck.
Any ideas on what to mention or include? I'm terrified that I'm just going to sound like some dumb kid complaining about her life, which is not my goal at all! Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. ![]()

Just be your wonderful self!!!!
Don't over-think what you are writing. Sometimes when we over think it, it comes out weird and not really saying what we want it to say. Just let it come from your heart and I am sure it will be perfect! |
