This is my second or third day here. I didn't know if I should share this much yet. But, really need the support.
My husband and I were separated for a few months. (we recently got back together) During our separation I stayed with my brother and his family. I'm a survivor of abuse. It was very abusive while I was there. Some pretty bad stuff happened. I'm feeling pretty alone and helpless.

Now I'm back home. Everything here is wonderful. But, I'm falling apart. I'm not sure what to do.

thanks for listening

I'm really sorry that you had to go through that bad experience. Is there anyone who you can talk to about it? (And welcome to PC).

I am sorry you have had to go through such a traumatic experience. I hope you can find a safe place to get support. Can you just go to a therapist for one visit just to help you process what you have been through? Also welcome to PC.

Patti / princess4605 ...

Not sure that I follow correctly here, but are you saying that not only are you a survivor of abuse (mental / emotional / sexual / etc. ?), but following your separation from your husband while you were residing with your brother and his family, abuse occurred there as well?

Was this abuse committed by your brother (biological / adoptive / etc. ?) or someone in his family? Just trying to clarify here as details are slightly vague.

Also, there are a number of individuals here on the Forums who are willing to share their experiences with regard to the various strata of abuse they've dealt with (and subsequently either have overcome or are working towards healing) and I'm sure they will be able to provide you with a semblance of empathy for what you've been subject to.

Take care,

vertebrae

Yes, I have been talking with my husband. But, it's not always easy to share with him. Because of me feeling shame. And, knowing how hard it would be for him to hear things.

I'm a survivor of child sexual/physical and emotional abuse. While, I stayed at my brother there was mostly verbal and psychological abuse. There was threat of physical abuse.

thanks for listening.....
Thanks for this!

wow I'm sorry princess that these things have happened to you. all of that abuse would be a very hard thing to heal from. Have you talked to a therapist about these things?
