I am the oldest of 6 kids. Our parents were together 32 yrs. When mom finally left us. She had been having HUGE mental problem for yrs before, isolating herself, threatening to kill herself, going on huge angry fits, were nothing could stand in her way including us, she would use whatever she could to hit us, or just grab us by the ears or hair and pulls us about, kicking, screaming and punching. Or slamming us into the walls using our heads. OVER, OVER and OVER. We were home schooled and poorly at that, a book was set before us and we had to figure it out or ask Q.'s as needed. If we asked mom Q's she would hit the roof in out right anger if we could not grasp the subject right away. And the whole beating would begin all over again.
I am 35, now and mom has been out of my life for about 10 yrs now. But I am still reeling from the effects, had counseling once and it helped a bit but, now that my own mental issues are coming up, I am losing all sense of direction and hope. I know I need to get to a psych Doc ASAP. And I will. I just gota get thru next week as I am on truck with my hubby. And we cant afford just any random place. |

Hi GBear, I'm so sorry that that happened to you. A therapist would be really helpful. Keep us posted on how you are doing?
