Its strange,

There's this girl i chated with. She's been molested as a child...from the time she was 5 up to 9. Weekly. From the way she was telling me, it seems the guy (who was babysitting her) gradualy took advantage of her. She lost her virginity at a very very young age. The parents apparently knew and didn't do a thing.

I was thinking she probably now days had a hard time with guys. But that's not true at all, now she had intercourse with a guy at 13 and that was when she felt it was ok. Now she's "Bi" and doing good besides having bills over her shoulder. How don't understand how things landed up this way for her. its strange.

But i figure she (as a child) was seduce into bed, it felt good for her so she let it happened. She was only 5...but my point is this totally swallowed her childhood has she gotten more aggresive sexually. There was not much activities for her, beside living in a poor quarter she never found truly herself, her skills, etc. Its a good thing she remains shy around guys, it helps protecting herself.

It's fairly common for victims of sexual abuse to become sexualized as one of the effects - either oversexualization or totally avoiding sexuality can happen, and I don't know that there is any way to predict which extreme a victim is more likely to gravitate towards. Either way can really interfere with their life. It's sad that she was abused, and I hope that she can make a better life for herself.
