So I am trying to work up the courage to finally seek therapy for the rape I experienced almost three years ago. I know that I need help working through my feelings about the incident and I also need help dealing with current and likely subsequent sexual issues I now experience. But I have to admit I am scared to talk to a therapist (or anyone for that matter) about it, I have only previously talked with my mom and my current boyfriend about it.. Can anyone offer some advice about how to start the therapy process?

Do you have insurance? If you do start there and see which therapists that they are already hooked up with.

I used to work for a rape hotline. We kept a list of therapists recommended by our clients as really good in that field. You might check for one in your area. Google "rape hotline" and your ZIP code.
