Proper terms vs. Slang and why? Why are some words uncomfortable/difficult for you?
I feel proper terms paint an image and slang terms sort of lower the level of respect/reality for whatevers being spoken about and that makes it easier to deal with |

I can have a very dirty mouth when upset. I don't use scientific terms and my T once asked me to tone it down. Think she was joking, but trying to keep it clean. I think you use terms you feel comfortable with. It is difficult enough to talk about it without worrying if it offend. Come to think of it - maybe I use dirty terms because that is what it is.

Like whoswho, I also describe events pretty vaguely. I do have a tendency to dissociate when I'm talking about the events which makes me quiet too.
In the past couple of years, I have become more willing to share experiences with my T. I keep the description as short as I can, because I feel so ashamed. I hate showing that emotion ~ it's very uncomfortable! From there, I can talk freely about the associated emotions. Weird. ![]()
