I grew up living with my mother physically and emotionally abusing me. She could get quite violent with me at times, and told everyone in my family that I was the one who was violent with her. To this day everyone believes her lies.
I've been having nightmares relating to the violence for years now, but recently they've changed - in these new ones, I'm the one becoming violent, with my parents just sitting there, helpless, and taking it. I don't know what to do about these, they leave me confused and feeling guilty, even though I know I never did the things I do in these dreams! What does this mean? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Gee Hanners I don't know, what comes to mind is that maybe you are at a point in your life where you are more settled and stronger as a person so you are fighting back in your sleep. You are taking charge and overcoming that abuse now.
Sorry that you were abused an invalidated. But maybe you are stronger now. (((hugs)))) Open Eyes |

Yeah, it's not "fighting back." In the dreams they've done nothing to deserve the wrath I incur on them.
