i got slapped in the face the other day. just one slap. but i felt nothing emotionally. it was like it didnt happen. i wasnt mad, upset, want to do it back. nothing. i didnt care. what bothered me. wasnt being slapped. it was the reaction to it.

It sounds like you have compartmentalized the experience? I have done that in my past as a way to survive. While I experienced certain things it was like I wasn't really there.

Sometimes this happens. You hurt so bad, you become numb. You literally shut down... you cant feel the pain. Can you get help?
