I was very badly physically abused by both parents, and suffered severe anxiety. Though a
little of it is still there,I am way beyond what I
thought I could be, and I put this down to
getting in touch with my anger, which is there
for our own protection. While I understand the
point of not wanting to be like our abusers ( I
was like that too), I see that that view was
correct, BUT only toward UNJUSTIFIED ANGER.
THIS is where the misunderstanding occurs.
There is NOTHING WRONG in using JUSTIFIED
ANGER FOR YOUR PROTECTION. Also, we may
cling to the first view of not wanting to be like
our abusers, to justify our (quite valid ) fear of
being angry.
Having been through BOTH experiences, I can tell you I am SOO GLAD I am in touch with my anger for my protection.
We are not meant to live in fear of others,
anger is your SHIELD!
Kindest Regards,
BLUEDOVE.
Thanks for this!
