A sex offender has been relesed from jail and is living in the town next to my mums
My nieces live with my mum this sex offender isn't even on the sex offenders regetistor
because his crimes where before the regestor was made

The police say there going to keep an eye on him witch means nothing as he could go under the police radar
There are protest organized near to where he lives its meant to be a peaceful protest but with feeling so high it might turn violent
He should have been in jail for life but with an appeal he got his sentence reduced to 6 years and now he is living near to my mums

I am so worried about my family
I know there nothing i can do to protect them from this person or other people like him

Its bring back things i cant deal with

I grew up on a dead end street where everyone knew everyone and all the kids were friends. The man that lived across from me was somewhat of a recluse. We never knew him but were afraid of him and stayed away. He never bothered any of us kids. When I was in high school we found out he was a pedophile. They did not have any of the sex offender laws then and we only found out by accident.

At least your family is aware of his offenses and know the be wary. Tell your nieces to stay away from him and keep an eye out at all times. It won't be fun but they will be safer.

Yes taking small steps to ensure your young ones are safe are of the utmost importance. They may hate you for being overprotective or not allowing them to go outside often but its worth it in the long run. Always make sure they have a buddy with them and teach them good safety habits like don't talk to strangers don't go near anyone or vehicles etc. They sound trivial but they need to be said to the young ones; just because we are aware of these things doesn't mean they know enough.
