My mother found some pictures I drew as a child when looking through one of my sketchbooks. (trigger) they are of a naked man = my uncle. (/trigger)

she told me she doesn't think i'm well enough to see them yet. but i really want to see them. i worry that they could trigger me badly though. i just feel like i have to see them because that child was so traumatised, and since i'm about to start EMDR maybe i should put myself back in that mindset...

should i look or not? :S

Hi. It's just a thought but, why not talk to your T as maybe you could look at them together. I think I would want to see them if it was me, but you know yourself better than anyone else, so maybe ask yourself the question as to whether now is the right time? Good luck with your decision. There is no hurry though. Do what feels right. Xxx

I agree with JoBo. Talk with your regular therapist before looking. Do what your intuition tells you.

I discussed EMDR with my T. I do not want to remember anymore than I do now.
