Our Mom had her fifth surgery on her left hip two days ago to replace a broken liner, and the screws to make sure that part stayed solid. Very good surgeon, and good outcome as far as the surgery is concerned. We have always dealt with Dad's mental abjuse towards all of us, especially Mom. Well, my sister came from Wisconsin here to Ohio, and the two of us decided to leave Dad at home with our brother during the surgery. Mom came out of the surgery mentally better than she did the first one when she was 40 years old!!!! After deciding that she was not going to be able to stand and do like she did quickly years ago, much to our relief, she decided to go to a rest home for a couple of weeks for care and theraphy, and peace from Dad. We have decided that he will no longer bully Mom and us, and if, need be, we will find her a place to live away from him. He will try to comply or the three of us will be on his skinny little tail. His reign as ruler, cusser, demeanor, is over!!! We are all in our fifties, and will be enjoying our grandkids, and the time we all have left regardless of whether he does or not. Dad refuses to give up acres, and a house that is not appropriate at all for Mom in her condition, so we will no longer run the sweeper, dust, laundry, clean flower beds, mow, etc. He can afford to get them a new condo where Mom would be comfortable and have a fence for her little dog she loves so much. We are hiring a person to clean house for her, and we told him he will do the laundry. It is in the basement, and Mom has asked for things to be changed because she is in such pain with her leg. Now, we will see how the mean little turd handles it without his slaves. I know this sounds awful, but we have to get back to the fun in life, and give up what we cannot change or deal with. Mom's health is top concern now, and also ours.
