I'm about to start the legal process and was wondering what to expect. What was the reporting and legal process like for you? Any advice or encouragement? Thanks xx

Found this list of various support groups, that may add depth to your support network.

Are you in a safe place where you cannot be abused? That to me is most important.

Not sure where you are in the process. Have you discussed with social worker or therapist?

Is this someone you have to face every day or are you in a safe location that you don't need to see them anymore?

There are many considerations. I would be talking to a lawyer and therapist and anyone else that is a professional on your support team. They can tell you better what the flash back might be and help you assess if you are strong enough to face it.

I know no one should go through abuse, but I also know that fighting abuse may have unintended consequences. Finding these out ahead of time could save much grief and suffering.

Yes, I'm currently safe. I hear about him a number of times per week, but don't have to see him. I will be more concerned and cautious once he knows what's happening. I will be very concerned then - either rationally or not, it'll be a scary time. I think I'm ready though.
