Wow what to say...guess well...my daughter's all grown up...that's most important to me...being a mom. Jumping right in...i'm bi-polar, PTSD and developed anxiety disorder four years ago from one trauma. Trauma itself started as kid for 11 yrs. Then as adult. Also when pregnant,(but daughters beautiful and perfect) there was an horrific attack (probably talk about that later) I firmly believe trauma is not the fault of the survivor...but I still blame myself for one awhile ago...I ignored my instincts with bad results. Guess I came here because of the recent trauma... happened this year..having hard time leaving my house...ok, this is weird but during the daytime not nighttime. maybe talk about it later...somewhere here to. Anyways...hoping to lend some support and also get a little support along the way. (am kinda fragile right now) p.s. thanks for reading. oh, not sure when to use triggering icon so always better safe than sorry. can someone who's been here awhile explain to me whats considered triggering and when not? like here...this would be considered triggering? (used icon) am i right? every community has different boundaries.

Triggering is basically any words or phrases that might cause someone in a vulnerable place to have negative emotions or flashbacks triggered by the words. When in doubt use a trigger icon. There is more here in the community guidelines
http://forums.psychcentral.com/rules...-8-2014-a.html

There is also a new triggering code to possibly hide words you don't want to show unless someone clicks on it.

Welcome nikki70!

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent trauma. Please don't blame yourself for any of it. It doesn't matter if we miss the signs; we still don't deserve to be hurt!

I can understand the fear of leaving the house. I've had that happen on and off. I actually am very isolated right now as I work from home, so I basically go out to do shopping and run errands in town one morning a week and take an occasional walk (early morning, though, when no one's around) and that's it! Going on forums like these, though, does help soothe some of the pain.

We're here to listen to your story when you're ready to tell it!
