Regarding Emotional Neglect and Emotional Abuse, I think that my parents – and many parents – were of the ilk that thought that giving their kids a hard time would “toughen them up” for living real life out there in the big, bad world that they knew very little of. I know that was the case. I think there were a bunch of parents at that time - and other times - that thought this was a brilliant approach. Also, less trouble because they didn't want to and could not deal with the emotional pain of reality. All it did was ruin their kids' lives and terrify them. It was an ignorant, stupid, cheap, horrible way to treat their tender, innocent little kids. It was the way they themselves were treated by their own ignorant, stupid, cheap, horrible parents. The only way we can stop it is to heal ourselves. That is not easy. I hate this.

I hate the idea of it and I hate the memories of it. I hate them and I hate those who are like them. If there is a hell, I hope they all burn in hell for neglecting and abusing their innocent little children.

That goes for all of the physically and sexually abusive parents and other abusers, too, all of them!

I feel your pain and these things constantly haunt me and forever will.
They think it toughens people up but in reality it breaks some people, like me.
Thanks for this!
