I'm being hit with memories but they're coming back too fast and i can't stop them

Memories of my home and my parents fighting in the night and me running away with them not even noticing that I've gone

I remember hiding under the trampoline in the back garden and I remember running down the back lane and tripping on the cobble stones

I remember the neighbour husky dog whining through the fence at me and the lake nearby and the allotments across the road where my rabbit ran away to

My mother and stepdad are fighting tonight and I can't block them out

But I hurt where he hurt me as a child and I can feel it all and I can't take it I just want it all to stop

Hang in there. If your brain is releasing these memories to you, it means that the wisdom of your psyche has determined that you are now strong enough to process these things. Your very own brain has faith in you and in how far you have come. Trust your mind to take care if you and be there for you. It protected you in the past when you were too vulnerable to process such things, and it has faith in you now.
Thanks for this!

Thank you for replying last night; I read your comment over and over and it helped a great deal

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I hope you are doing better today. Remember when those memories come, you are here, now, in this time and the memories cannot hurt you. they can be extremely scary, but you are here, now.
Thanks for this!

Thank you, I'm doing much better today. Got a long night ahead of me, and the lack of sleep I'll be getting will likely cause problems tomorrow, but for now all is good and I am keeping peaceful
