Neice Abused

Trigger warning! Trigger Warning! Trigger Warning!

I just got a call from my half sister, we are not really that close, we didn't really grow up together, and I have never met her two daughters. Her oldest is 16 and youngest is 10. She is a single mom, but the father of her girls, her boyfriend has been around and part of the family for 16 years or so.

Her oldest daughter, A, got pregnant at 15, just had the baby about 9 mos ago. She said it was a boy at school, but there was never any real effort to find the boy and do anything.

They just found out A is pregnant again, and it turns out, that for the last 4 years, A's father has been sexually abusing her. Turns out the first baby is her father's and this second pregnancy is the father's also.

I am so sick to my stomach, my anxiety is through the roof. I feel like I am supposed to DO something, but there is nothing I can do thousands of miles away. She has called the police, pressed charges and he is currently sitting in jail. She is doing all of the right things, I just wish she had found out with the first pregnancy.

Ugh, I am about to flip my lid.

I'm really sorry this things happen... I can't understand if those people don't know the enormous damage they cause to others or if they just don't care about it.

Try to help, at least maybe just calling her is enough... But please don't overheat your head, it won't help neither you nor your sister.

TerriLynn, my god, this is truly devastating. I am so very sorry. I hope your half sister is strong and can see clearly and will absolutely not tolerate her boyfriend in her and her daughters' lives. That would in no way be a path to healing . . .

My sister is being very strong and is doing all the right things. I am very proud of her. She isn't a highly functioning person. She was born with fetal alcohol syndrome, is on disability and sometimes just doesn't function well, but she is doing all the right things here.
