Serious trigger at work

Part of my job is online community management. So last week the worst case happened: we had a pedophile on our site for kids and I had to read through all his chatlogs to give all information to the police. I had to read every single damn rotten manipulative thing he wrote and see how the kids responded so trusting and naive it broke my heart. I haven't been well since then. I feel disgusted

Hello littleowl2006: Hopefully, from my perspective, you have someone you can talk this through with. The worst thing may be to ruminate over it. The good thing is you were there to do what needed to be done to help ensure the kids' safety. That is to be celebrated!

I really hope the police does something about it. This guy seemed like a pro, he shared multiple Dropbox links and tried to connect with the kids on other media. I wish we could have prevented that. The kids forum is about to be closed. It is just impossible to keep a-holes like that off the sites They know exactly what they are doing!
I try not to ruminate, but I can't really talk to anyone either. There's not much to say, anyhow. Just how very very evil a person this must be. The parts that were explicit were the worst. I have to erase them from my brain somehow and hope our company has contacted the parents and that they will talk to their kids about it

Littleowl, I want to congratulate you and thank you heartily for protecting those kids!! Great Job! I hope you can look at it in this way, that you were able to protect the children in a way that you were not. That gives you strength!!!
