Years ago, 3 guys took me behind their camper and told me to pull my pants down. I ran, they pushed me down to the ground, covered my mouth and held me down. Another guy, a little older, came and pulled my pants down and penetrated me with his finger while the guys groped my breasts. When they were 'finished' they punched me out. I later awoke with my pants and panties off, next to me. There was a little blood down my legs but I just thought that was from the wrestling. I was numb, not knowing what 'just happened.' So I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be judged and feel ashamed to others know I might not be a virgin. It's haunted me throughout the years not knowing what they did. I know I'm a virgin by choice but not in the back of my mind not sure by fact. I don't know their names but I clearly know their faces.

You were sexually assaulted regardless of whether penetration by penis actually occurred or not. Report it to the police even now to establish a record so that should the circumstances transpire you have more on your side to pursue legal action. I don't know that the police will be very "helpful" but doing so would be the right thing (from a crimes should reported perspective.) If you feel you can't, then don't - but I hope you will consider it.
Please don't get too hung up on the "virgin" label. Whether you are or are not as a result of this traumatic experience, the issue of virginity does not define your worth as a person or your worth as female. Really. |
