I was abused my whole life and I don't know how to take care of myself. I'm an adult so I really need to take care of myself as I don't want my abusers to take care of me anymore. I live with my abusers but they do not abuse me anymore (my parents). I do not have the skills to go out and live on my own- or the money. I feel trapped here. Any advice?

I'm sorry you are living in that situation. I am living back at home as well, though the main person is dead now, the one left also abused me when I was young. She has no memory of it, as she long since blocked it out. It messes with my head sometimes that I take care of her now as she is disabled. I also feel trapped as if I didn't help her, nobody would, and I can't afford to live on my own anyway any more.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm back living at my parent's house. I forgot how bad it really ****s with my head. In only living back here for an inconsistent month, I'm back to feeling like there's no hope, like I'm drowning, a total burden and just generally good for nothing. I had gotten so much better and now, here I am, back to square one. I'm a couple years younger than you and the memories are still really fresh.
The best advice I can give you is to either find an easier going job that has as little stress as possible (if you can help it) and save up some money. If that doesn't work out too well, apply for disability and see if you qualify. Also stating that you're homeless (which you can technically do) you might qualify for welfare assistance as well. What it really boils down to is if they deem you incapable to help yourself and survive in the world without assistance. Can you hold a job etc.. I would recommend attempting to get a part-time or full time job prior to going for disability. It can take a long time to get the benefits from those things. Utilize the system. It's what I've been told to do and might just pursue it, as well.
