I've been away from my abuser for 7 years. Our wedding anniversary would have been this weekend. I would have thought I would be over the pain by now. I keep reliving the abuse from the 25 years we were together. When will this pain stop and I can live this day like any other day.

It's only been 7 years. Believe it or not, when it comes to a survivor of abuse, that's really not a lot of time. It's especially not a lot of time in comparison to the 25 years of abuse. Go a little easy on yourself, bterrier. You're still healing, and healing up those wounds can take a really long time. Regardless, I'm sorry that you have deal with this pain. Wish you all the best.
Thanks for this!

I got away from one of my abusive relationships over 20 years ago, the other was 7 years ago. Even though I'm in a great relationship now I'm still healing from the abuse. I know it's going to take some time. I may never heal completely from it, but I at least want enough so I can manage it.
