I recently contacted the police dept. in my hometown concerning a crime that occurred about 40 years ago. I was the victim of child sexual abuse.
Has anyone else ever done something similar? I know what he did for a living, and I know my dad found him through the Yellow Pages, and I know he had a reputation in another town... The officer I talked to didn't give me much encouragement, and made it sound like it wouldn't be possible to find this guy based on the information I gave. I'm hoping they will at least look for someone with the occupation in question who was arrested or had some kind of record in both cities.

I tried to locate a report for an incident that was about 16 years ago. I had no luck.
I hope everything works out for you.

I did contact a detective from my hometown and reported the crime. He thanked me and treated me with nothing but respect.
