I want to start by saying that I have a really great T, he’s super supportive, he knows when to push and when to back off, I wouldn’t trade him for anything.
Having said that, lately there seems to be a tension on my side of things, and I realized that I’m doing a lot of changing, and I’m not sure what it is I’m looking for from my T at this point, other then the basic listening and helping me work through m various issues. I think I’m looking for or needing something specific from him, but I’m not sure what it is. What do you look for from your therapists? |

My T asks me "What do you need from me?" Or he will say "How can I help you with that?" He asks that to try to get me to think about what my needs are because I have a very hard time even understanding my needs. Part of it is the autism and part of it is the PTSD and relationship bonding issues. Anyway.. I recently let T know that I needed to just have him there so I knew I had someone there.

![]() That being said... for me, I literally have no real life support system, my family is far from anything like that and I don't have friends... so for now I have him for that and for someone who I know wont laugh or mock me when I say something, I am used to that type of reaction It's nice to just to talk to someone who I am not related to, sometimes. |
