I don't like doctor's offices. I just feel nervous. I tend to think it was because I was trapped in a small apartment with an adult stranger who fondled me. I was alone with him for about 12 hours after he fondled me. I was probably 9 years old at the time.

I haven't been to see a medical doctor for about 8 years until 2 weeks ago. 2 people in the dr's office noted how nervous I was, but not to comfort me. There was a note of amusement.

I wonder if they would have treated me with more respect had they had known about the past abuse.

Does your doctor know that you were sexually abused?

—-if u have to see this doctor a lot u could consider it, otherwise u could just say you have claustrophobia or whatever without making yrself even more vulnerable.
Thanks for this!

My PCP, pdoc, and cardiologist know and were supportive. I haven't told my endocrinologist as it just hasn't come up.
Thanks for this!

Mine knows because I go to her for paps. It would be beneficial for you to disclose that information.
Thanks for this!
