I don't like doctor's offices. I just feel nervous. I tend to think it was because I was trapped in a small apartment with an adult stranger who fondled me. I was alone with him for about 12 hours after he fondled me. I was probably 9 years old at the time.
I haven't been to see a medical doctor for about 8 years until 2 weeks ago. 2 people in the dr's office noted how nervous I was, but not to comfort me. There was a note of amusement. I wonder if they would have treated me with more respect had they had known about the past abuse. Does your doctor know that you were sexually abused?

My PCP, pdoc, and cardiologist know and were supportive. I haven't told my endocrinologist as it just hasn't come up.

Mine knows because I go to her for paps. It would be beneficial for you to disclose that information.
