People may be at the peak of their vulnerability here. How can we improve on being sensitive towards each other given the trauma of abuse? I will start with my idea.

1). Clarify. Don't skip to conclusion. Don't jump to disagreement without first checking the context. Ask what did they mean by that statement or ask for a little more information (not for an intrusion but for a clarification).

Thanks for raising this important concern. The Buddhist nun Pema Chödrön has written: criticism without compassion can be just mean. My own guiding principle, everywhere here on PC, is the old adage: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
