"The stepfather of a 2-year-old girl lost control and beat her to death because she wouldn't say "please" and "yes sir," an attorney for the girl's mother said Wednesday." Read the whole story (if you can stand to). This is the quoted statement of the girl's mother's lawyer; she was there too. Sounds a bit too familiar to me from my own childhood, though obviously I wasn't killed. But I think this kind of thing needs to be in the open and discussed and an attempt made to understand so as to lessen the chances of many repeats.

It's unnatural for a child to die in this sort of way...it saddens me.
