People say I’m being mentally and verbally abused. I don’t see it anymore. I suppose my self esteem has broken down so much that I’ve become self destructive and believe I deserve it.

Hope this reply finds you okay. I know how you've been struggling recently. Yes, I do believe there can come a point where one simply comes to believe one deserves abuse simply because it's been going on so long. Sometimes, though, I don't know as it's even so much a matter of believing versus not believing: it's just that, at some point, it becomes one's "normal". So it just doesn't even occur to the person that it could, or should, be any other way... sad...

Well after a few emails last night he’s gone silent again and I am heart broken all over again. I don’t understand how you can say you love someone and not want to see them. We’ve been estranged for a year . I thought he wanted me to be with me. Now I’m not so sure. It’s agonizing.

That's one of the weird things about abuse. I don't know what your exact situation is but I can say that abusers have a way of making the situation appear normal. You do kinda feel like you deserve it. That you're making mountains out of mole hills. And as a victim you don't want to believe that you've been hurt. Be it because off feelings towards the abuser or simply because you think denying it will make it go away. It's really hard when you want to keep a good image off them in your head. I think right now focusing on the good relationships that you still have would be good. Abusers are strange, they do strange things. This person may not even know what they want.

Because this person has aspergers they’re not being abusive . I also learned that I was pretty brutal myself. I’m definitely no one to talk .

I'm sorry! The best advice that I can give you is to catch yourself being abusive and then apologized to that person
