My aunt has absolutely destroyed my credibility and has done irreparable harm to my character.
In one instance I called her because I felt nervous about my superintendent being in my place when I was not home to do a pest inspection. I was worried he would snoop, and be unprofessional. My aunt took that bit of information and told my uncle, and god knows who else, that I had lied about him being in my place. She absolutely painted my character as having lied in the worst way possible. I tried to explain he was in my place. I tried reason and felt like the more I tried to insist I would just get trapped in a circular argument. So I apologized. When my superintendent got black out drunk and began harassing me, in my aunt and uncle's mind I deserved it, and riled up my super by saying "peace out." I had to stay in a hotel because I was afraid of my superintendent. I feared for my safety. The very next day he apologized and said he was too drunk to remember. He showed up at my apartment to install an air conditioner, likely drunk, while acting belligerent. While I was alone with him, with the door closed, he asked me if he said anything sexual which was super inappropriate to me. My aunt and uncle thought I deserved it because of my alleged lying about him being in my place while I was not home. The fact of the matter is he was in my place, and even he admitted that. My aunt portrayed me as a liar of the worst kind, and sees my mistreatment as a result of my behavior. It's a twisted ****ing way in which they shift blame onto me. What I find upsetting is they are telling lies to control me, and discredit me. They are telling lies where the end result is I am vulnerable to more abuse, leaving me with no safety. I've considered suing her, and actually seeing about having her charged with harassment. The really disturbing thing about my superintendent is he bragged about going into a tenant's unit under the suspicion she was on drugs, or dealing drugs. He admitted to stealing some of her prescription meds. Quite ironic I was worried he would step out of line when he went into my place. Last edited by Stillhuman; Jul 09, 2023 at 11:13 AM. |

You have 2 people in your life that are causing you significant upset and also harm: your aunt and the superintendent.
Stay away from them. Can you do that? |

I may need to move to an undisclosed location. Far away from them so they no longer know where I live. They're too close and that's a problem. I think the superintendent has been removed from the property and hasn't been back since. I think that issue is done. I am hoping he is not allowed back. |

Good good... you may ask to have your locks changed for security, in case the superintendent had copies of the keys.
Sorry to hear that your aunt has been so nasty to you. |

I am going to get a chain lock for my door. I overheard the superintendent gave the master keys to a neighbour. I have been asking for my locks to be fixed for months.

My next step is to move and get out of this place.

The owner offered to put a deadbolt on my door. It seems like my ex superintendent has been handled and may not be allowed back to visit residents.
I am no contact with my family, and am working on preserving those boundaries. I started talking openly about some of the things and that is helping. I started a new job which helps. I figured whenever I catch myself stuck on the details of what my aunt did I feel very hurt and appalled at her behaviour. I just accepted she is that low. |
