I was going through my photos and realized I don't even have a picture of myself since I moved so took a selfie and HOLY SHYT I AM A SPITTING IMAGE OF MY FKING FATHER NO WONDER I'M A ******* MONSTER EVERYONE HATES!
I have his fking eyes. his lifeless eyes. his somehow both too big and too small mouth. My head is going numb wtf. Can't even look at myself without getting triggered now ffs.

My older and younger brother looked so much like my father as they lay in their caskets. It was spooky. I haven't recognized my image in the mirror since I became depersonalized at age 17. They say if we have a soul, it resides in the temporal lobe. If the eyes are the window to the soul, then mine was significantly damaged because when I look into my eyes in the mirror, all is dim. My EEG show significant pathology in my temporal lobe from a powerful temporal lobe seizure i suffered way back in 1971. . (most likely precipitated by parental abuse.)

@MuddyBoots
I get you. I look exactly like my mother that I hate and I just hate it so much every time I look at myself in the mirror. Maybe try to tell yourself that it doesn't mean that you look like you're father that you are like him (I know this is easy to say and hard to actually do, I'm trying to do this for myself and I'm still barely able to do it). |
