wow, I must be really lucky. My dr and I have a really good relationship, and (probably because I see her so much anyway) she knows me vvvvveeeeeerrrrryyyyyyyy well!!! Like yesterday when I saw her, she knew just by looking at me that my diabetes was really bad- she knew before I did lololol. Bit nervous now though- have to go back again today (groan) but because of the issues this time, and the fact that I will have both my girls with me I know that there is going to be no way we can talk about the post, thank goodness...

(((((kiya))))) thanks.
Just as I thought- between the girls and the worry with the diabetes there was no way the subject could ever come up so I'm off the hook for a while ***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS***!!!

Just to let you know that when I saw my dr this afternoon (about something else) she did talk about this. I didn't- I spent the whole time trying to remember to breathe and to subdue the panic! Anyway, the outcome is that I am off the recall schedule; and after giving it some thought and coz I have never had an abnormal smear she said that I could decide whether the impact of putting myself thru it was greater than not getting it done at all. For now I have chosen to not have it done at all. Phew, off the hook (altho now I suspect I will have lingering worries about whether or not everything is ok)...
I want to thank everyone who has supported me through this, and I am so glad that I have reached the end of this journey!

(((((((((((sujunew))))))))))))))) oh that is good, i am glad it is over for you too. That is what a dr told me also - that since i was healthy and hever had an abnormal one i could skip that one if i wanted - as long as i worked on this issue in therapy and could come in next year (which, i didn't). ***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS***
thanks for the update!!

***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS*** ***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS*** I never thought of that- she never gave me any indication of when or if I need to come back to this. I think (and hope ***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS***!!) she meant only to have it done in the future if there was cause for concern. Wow, I don't know HOW you get thru YEARLY ones. Ours are 3-yearly...Good luck to you too kiya

lol - how else would you know there was cause for concern? well - there are things that would indicate... sometimes. but not always. 3 years is about what i manage... takes that long to forget the last one.

yeah that does sound kinda strange huh?!?! Esp since if there are any symptoms/signs that things aren't great those 'things' are often at an advanced stage already. I got my recall nearly 2 yrs ago, so that would have been when my 3-yearly one was due...so it must be nearly 5yrs since i had one done...seems an awfully long time...I had my tubes tied nearly 3 yrs ago and i thought I had one done then...(sorry, just calculating all this out 'in my head'/talking to myself lol)...I dunno. I do feel uneasy about not knowing either way; maybe in a few years things will have settled down a bit and I might get up the courage to go...But like I said, at least I am off the hook for now lololol!!!

Hmmm, we'll see ***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS***!! Maybe if I work hard with my t I might get to that stage. I never used to have a problem getting it done, it wasn't til this recall letter triggered the flashbacks... ***WOMEN...ABUSE...SMEARS***
