to forget about our abuse
to overcome all the horrible memories
to live happy lives, without being triggered by anything
to not let what happened control our lives
to trust people
to not be fearful all the time
to not let our abusers control us
to take our lives back
to walk away from the dark past and walk towards a bright future

I wonder if these are possible, I know i'm tired of being control by what happened to me when I was young, I'm tired of the flashbacks, of the pain, the memories, of being triggered, to be afraid to go somewhere because he will be there or because it reminds me of stuff. I want my life back not sure how to get it back though. How can I let go of the past and be free for once?

You will never forget it, but healing is possible.

i agree with pegasus. it will become bearable. you won't feel bad. you won't think of it every waking moment of your life. when you think back, you will say, wow, i am strong.

if we weren't strong, we couldn't have made it through.

every step towards healing is worth it.
