Just wanted to let everyone know I am feeling better now. I've done a lot of self-reflection the past few days and realized I can work out solutions to my own problems with my higher power, a pen and a paper. All of my problems have solutions, and I have discovered those solutions simply by taking the time to sit down and write it all out. I have the next month planned out as far as finances and personal life choices.
I was resenting all the "suggestions" I was getting from other AA members. I realized the part that I played in that was that I was talking about my personal problems too much at AA. So I have chosen to stop doing that. Now when someone asks me how I am doing, instead of launching into a detailed description of my latest struggle, I answer with the AA slogan, "Oh, just taking it one day at a time." And it works! I'm continuing to attend AA a few times per week. I realized I have reached a point in my sobriety where I know what works for me and what doesn't in my own personal recovery program. I've decided that my therapy group and my individual therapy sessions are the best place for me to vent my frustrations. AA is merely a support group of other recovering alcoholics that encourage me to stay sober. It is not a place for me to get advice on how to live my life. I am in no hurry right now to find another sponsor. I will when I am ready to continue on Step 4. Overall, I am pleased with my progress and the direction my life is taking right now. I am confident in my ability to survive and solve my own problems. I appreciate everyone on this forum who encouraged me when I was feeling down. I thought it was a good idea to post on here when I am feeling good as well!

Sounds amazing! I am so happy to hear you are doing well and approaching life's challenges with maturity and mindfulness.
It's a wild ride, getting sobering and recovering from alcoholism. Great to hear when someone is having success. Thanks for sharing, moogs
