Can someone tell me what the subforum "garden" is for? I think I want to play.

Oh now I get it! Can I come here anytime I want to and can I bring George and Floyd and my special fluffy from my very bestest friend? Sometimes I like to hide cause I'm too scared but Mr. Jerry said always hiding means ongoing hurt but talking means feeling better. So I try not to hide but sometimes I really need to hide cause I get so scared. I'm glad I can come here and be with all of you then I won't be so alone when I hide and it won't be like hiding ) Mr. Jerry showed me how to do that, make a smiley face with the computer.

I havent been a member for very long but I have been as people on line say been "lurkin" and reading this site with friends and my therapist for quite some time..
first I love your picture of the bird. I have for a long time but because I wasn't a member yet I couldnt tell you.

what is this place...its the same as you have been doing before with all the games, jokes, storys and such things that I have seen you post about before..

you know how everyone here was putting game links and fary garden pictures and stuff in general, social and the dissociative disorders boards? well now instead of having all the game links, jokes, joke links, pictures and such things scattered around the whole website and people not being able to find them when they wanted them...

Well now there is a separate board just for all that fun stuff so that they don't get burried, lost, forgotten about in the middle of all the other boards.

Crystal, thank you for your comments. However i feel you have misunderstood the purpose of the garden. This place was not set up for funny links, games, etc. If you read what Doc John wrote you will see that the garden is

no I did not misunderstand or misinterpret thanks for your concern though about me, sometimes this does happen with me.

if you will reread my post you will see that I did not say it was for the hardships - the bad stuff that people go through with DID. I specifically said it was for jokes, game links, pictures.. those are not hard things. those are fun things. and jokes game links and such are safe interactions that people with DID here have used before for times when they were feeling vunerable and unsafe for example If I remember one time I was reading a fantastic thread about fuzzy bears cave, petunia fairy garden, draw ball pictures, so much I had so much fun and it really helped me get through those days when I just needed to sit back and read some fun safe stuff instead of the hard stuff that some people were posting about.

If here is the only place you feel able to read this type of thread then on you go.

However, the garden was not designed for this.

You will find that if you restict yourself to looking for such things in the garden you wont get the benefit of all the threads that are like this.

However, you must do what you feel you need to in order to stay safe.

Well- for myself- reading in the garden helps me know who here is feeling safe

Speaking for myself as well, I don't think the Garden was created for "all the fun links" to be posted here, and again, this is just speaking for myself.

I thought it was just for those with Dissociative Disorders to get support when they are feeling vulnerable.

But that is just me, myself and I's understanding, I could be wrong.

thanks allthe girls.. I don't limit myself.. unfortunately I only get a limited amount of time on this computer. I am at the library. I do not have my own computer. These computers have timers attached so that I can only read for one hour at a time and 2 hour max a day on my library card. That doesnt leave me much time for looking at alot of the boards so I have chosen a couple boards to keep up with. and the rest Im sorry to say that I usually run out of time and the computer shuts off before I even get through with the new posts on two boards let alone all of the others. One of these days I hope to have my own computer.

Im glad you can get access through the library. I remeber a previous member was able to use the library too. I hope you can get your own computer soon

I never think to use the library! What a good idea!

I know that some people have even gone to the library with their therapists to do research together and read different mental health websites etc.

(I don't know if I could go with my T though, I think I'd rather go by myself.)

But it's a great idea for people who have limited access.

Songbird...hope you come and play again..feel safe..we hope the keepers of the Garden will keep it weed free..cause everyone knows how annoying those can be in a Garden..once they take root..they keep popping back up.. ..
